Community Garden

We use the garden to help us study plant growth in our Science lessons.

The sensory garden helps the children from the Children’s Centre to learn about plants.

The Saturdads are a brilliant idea and they are doing excellent work in helping to keep everything clean and tidy in the garden.

Thank you to Ross and Katrina for helping us to make the garden such a wonderful place to play and learn.

Northumbria in Bloom – Gold Medal 2014

Congratulations to Ross, Katrina and all the children who have helped our Community Garden win a Gold Medal in the Northumbria in Bloom Growing Together 2014.

The Judges gave the garden 96 out of 100 marks. The Judge’s Report comments are:

‘It is always a pleasure to come to this school garden and meet the enthusiastic and knowledgeable young gardeners. Their plant knowledge is excellent –¬†¬†they recognise what they are growing and why, and they enjoy sampling and sharing anything that is ready to pick. Their knowledge of the wildlife that is supported in their garden is excellent too.’
